Femi Adelegan, a Nigerian child of God, is a deacon at the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, a Nigerian Pentecostal organization founded by Bishop Francis Wale Oke. He was born to Christian parents. His father was the late Chief S. T. Adelegan, a one-time vice-president of Nigeria’s chapter of the Young Men’s Christian Association and deputy speaker, Western Nigeria House of Assembly. His late mother, Mrs. Eunice Adelegan, was a very strong member of the Young Women’s Christian Association.
Currently the principal secretary to the national secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (the ruling political party in Nigeria), the author is a seasoned bureaucrat and information manager with a broad horizon. He was chief private secretary/adviser to the governor of Osun State on policies, programmes and plans implementation (2003–2010) and chief press secretary to four successive governors of Osun State (1994–2000). He is the author of Governance: An Insider’s Reflections on the Nigerian Polity (2009) and The Press Secretary (1998).
